摘要

In this paper, we present an approach to interpret sensor data so that the control system of a robotic autonomous agent can operate at a conceptual level to perform complex tasks in a partially and imprecisely known environment. The aim of this approach is to provide the agent with the possibility to interpret the environment in terms similar to those adopted by the designer of the control system to reason about the task. Our approach grounds the symbols on sensor input and makes it possible to implement reliable control systems at low computational and designing costs. Moreover, given the so-obtained set of high-level concepts, the input-output mapping can be effectively learnt and, eventually, tuned on the specific, faced environment.
