The development of the Mad Dog and Atlantis prospectsrnincluded an integrated geohazard study which covered arnvariety of geological, geophysical and geotechnical subjects.rnBoth prospect areas are located at the main geological featurernin the area, the Sigsbee Escarpment. This paper describes thernprobabilistic slope stability evaluations performed for thernAtlantis prospect in detail. The results obtained for the MadrnDog are also presented.rnIn a geohazards study of an offshore site, where the mainrnhazard to the facilities is submarine slides, it is essential tornestablish a model of the slide frequency (i.e. the annualrnprobability of failure) in order to perform a risk evaluation.rnThe approach used for estimating the annual probability ofrnslope failure is described in the paper.
