Abstract: Carcinoma in situ and early lung cancer have been detected by fluorescence imaging, a ratio fluorometer, and a realtime fluorescence spectrum analyzer. Positive results have been obtained with all three methods, but there is less experience with the spectrum analyzer. The latest development is to ratio red-to-green in a pixel-by-pixel fashion, combining the advantages of the imaging technique and the red-to-green ratio fluorometer.!
