The rapid increase of construction activities has imaged several negative consequences and constraints;partly it was resulted from the inefficiency of the present procurement system.In many countries,construction industry has adopted the newer forms of procurement.In particular,it calls for the entire supply chain to be integrated and the government should commit in promoting such method of procurement.To fulfil the theme of this conference,basically the paper will discuss the potential of adopting new innovative procurement system in the sector by integrating the supply chain management concept aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the construction sector.
