In the recent past, multilevel inverters (MLI) have drawn a considerable interest in powerrnindustry. It is known that, a multilevel inverter structure affords an easy way of developingrnhigh alternating voltage power sources compared to conventional methods. This is so, to anrnextent, due to the way in which device voltage stresses are controlled in the structure. Also,rnthe number of voltage levels in the inverter could be increased without having to enhance thernratings of individual components. Besides these, minimized harmonic contents andrnelectromagnetic interference are advantageous offshoots. This paper proposes a modifiedrnversion of a full bridge approach with bi-directional switching interconnections.
