This paper introduces definitions and characteristics of building information model (BIM), and analyzes its effects on the lifecycle management of construction project with a typical case. Based on BIM, the paper also discusses the new requirements of the abilities and qualities of the project managers. It researches some of the new demands required by BIM in new situations and finally it has drawn the conclusion.
