There has been analyzed the problem of quantitative assessment of production laser gyro fidelity intended as an angular movement sensor in strapdown inertial navigation systems. There have been calculated coupling coefficients of counter propagating waves in imperfect ring cavity. There developed a method of assessment of radiation back scattering in laser gyro with mechanical dither. The method makes it possible to separate scattering on cavity mirrors and scattering on aperture designed for transverse mode selection. There realized quantitative estimation of misalignment of the resonator axis and the aperture center that appears in ring laser processing.
