The present research work aims at the development of a reliable and predictive model for the virtual evaluation of concrete structures, especially for the evaluation of metal anchors in concrete slabs. This work was motivated by the observation of the incapacity of existing models toward the reliable prediction of loads and ultimate displacements under a complex state of stresses, particularly for the mixed modes 1 & 2; it is notably the case of shear behaviour of metal anchors in concrete slabs. Different models of concrete behaviour, more or less detailed, were found in the literature. But generally, compared to the modelling, they are either not predictive for cases of complex loads, or very complicated and cumbersome, thus non-exploitable for industrial cases. Due to this observation, the choice to develop a new model was made. This new model is based on certain hypothesis of deformation mechanisms relative to the diverse aspect of the concrete. After its 2D & 3D implementation in the SYMPHONIE software, the model was tessed and compared with test and other theoretical results, under various scenarios found in the literature, in order to estimate its answer toward a wide combination of requests. The model shows a good capacity to predict both qualitatively and quantitatively the shear behaviour of these metal anchors.
