The methods of fluvial processes analysis mainly include contour plane graph, cross section water depth graph, and equal variety value graph. Based on the analysis of the advantage and shortage of these methods, efforts are paid to combine them and build a visualization browsing system on three-dimensional terrain. This system is based on the OpenGL program technique, with use of the improved discrete data grid arithmetic, the 3-D terrain modeling, third dimension figure plotting, 3-D coordinates querying, and human-computer interacting technique. With this system, one can easily catch the 3-D information and general character of the interested riverbed. Therefore, it provides an effective visualization method for fluvial processes analysis.
