This paper describes the work carried out to reclaim a 14 hectare former auto and aero engine manufacturing plant in the centre of the City of Coventry, England. The paper details the site investigation works carried out and the assessments made. Particular concerns were identified in relation to the underlying aquifer and the presence of a backfilled quarry previously used as a works dump. The development of the reclamation strategy is described in detail and the works proposed to allow future development identified.
