摘要

This paper presents work in progress to produce a software tool simulating traffic movement in harbour. The three-degrees-of-freedom mathematical model is adopted to express ship's manoeuvring motions. The influence of sea current, wave disturbance and wind force is also considered. The required safe trajectory from the starting position of the ship up to the destination berth is generated by an algorithm based on potential field energy method. The way points are selected and stored in a way-point database and heading angle is computed by line-of- sight algorithm. The desired speed along the path is specified independently. In this model, an autopilot based on PID control is used to manoeuvre the ship from one way-point to another. The design of control system is described. A sample of computer simulation results is given to verify the design method and show the effectiveness of the model.
