Inundation due to global warming and land subsidence in Chao Phraya delta

摘要

The purpose of this study is to assess the influence of dual impacts of sea-level rise due to globalrnwarming and land subsidence on inundation area in Chao Phraya delta. The future situation of land subsidencernin 2100 has been predicted by using a method of reliable land subsidence mapping based on the observationsrnof settlements proposed by Murakami, S. et al. (2005). The future elevation model in the objectivernregions has been made by using the present elevation model and the predicted land subsidence. For investigatingrnthe influence of dual impacts of both sea-level rise and land subsidence on inundation area, a hazard maprnof the inundation area has been represented. The result shows that it is important for inundation area in MegarnDeltas, where land subsidence has taken place, to consider not only sea-level rise but also land subsidence inrnthe future.
