摘要

The 3D pendulum is a rigid body that is fixed at a frictionless pivot with three rotational freedom, it is the simplified model of the GEO spacecraft. The structure inside the body can influence the accuracy and the stability of the calculation. Theoretically, the discrete variational integrator algorithm can conserve the structure of the system, it can obtain the calculate result that approximate the continuous algorithm.As a classical discrete variational integrator algorithm, whether the rattle algorithm can conserve the structure of the complex system have not been proving.According to compare the calculate result of the 3D pendulum and the 2D spherical pendulum based on the rattle algorithm, it can derive that the rattle algorithm is not a universally used algorithm,it can conserve the structure of the 2D spherical pendulum ,but can’t conserve the structure of the 3D pendulum and lead to the rapid dissipation of the energy.
