The problem. The purpose of the current study was to examine whether or not a statistical correlation exists between Lynwood Unified School District's Kaplan District Test (KDT) as Predictor and California Standard Test's California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) as Predicted.; The method. Row Scores of N=1,000 Lynwood High School Students were randomly selected from a population of 3,700. The scores from the 2005 and 2006 CAHSEE and KDT for Algebra I and Geometry were paired and correlated with the Kaplan District Test. A correlation was also conducted based on variables of Gender and Ethnicity.; The results. The study found positive results in all of the correlations. Specifically, the 2006 CAHSEE and 2006 Kaplan District Test for Algebra I and Geometry showed a statistically significant correlation with Algebra I r=0.568 and Geometry r=0.742. In the Gender correlation study for the 2005 CAHSEE and Kaplan District Test for Algebra I, the correlation was positive. The study showed that the correlation of the males and females was statistically moderate. The 2005 CAHSEE and KDT for Geometry, with males r=0.493 and females r=0.486, the correlation was positive. The 2006 CAHSEE and KDT for Algebra I showed a statistically positive correlation among both sexes with males r=0.637 and females r=0.432.; The 2006 CAHSEE and KDT for Geometry showed a marked statistically significant correlation among the sexes with males r=0.655 and females r=0.812.
