摘要

The World Wide Web is the fastest growing part of the Internet. It's increasingly being used by corporations to distribute important information and conduct business transactions. It's also the part of the Internet that is most vulnerable to attack.; There are numerous methods used by hackers to attack any part of the network: virus, spoofing, denial of service and more. Unfortunately, the power of web technology makes web servers and browsers especially vulnerable to such attacks.; Today, companies and individuals are threatened by attacks whose danger increases with the development of Internet.; The web security problem consists of three major parts: (1) Securing the web server and the data on it; (2) Securing information that travels between the web server and the user; (3) Securing the user's own computer; The purpose of this project is to describe the multiple threats that attack the sites and the Web servers. It describes the security problems publicized with some programming languages such HTML, XML, JAVA and CGI. It also considers the security of some web browsers such as Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator as well as that of the Windows NT and Linux web servers operating systems.
