摘要

By looking at the development, creation and installation of two outdoor sculptures Deposits and Petroform, the author and creator of the sculptures documents the creative process. With references to the broad historical development of outdoor sculpture, in general, and the rise of ecological sculpture, in particular, the patterns of site-specific issues and environmental concerns are addressed. The sculptures on which the paper focuses represent an exploration of replicating sediment in, around and underneath rivers. The use of litter is referenced to both its physical presence in nature and its symbolic representation as discarded parts of our lives.
