摘要

This paper examines South Carolina's Unemployment population by analyzing all Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims in South Carolina from 2006-2008. The main purpose of this study is to see if South Carolina's UI population experiences negative effects from using the UI system; mainly unemployment scarring and UI abuse due to recidivism of UI, as other studies suggest. Using Logistic Regression and categorical variables, this study suggests South Carolina's UI claimants have experienced unemployment scarring, and UI abuse is present, due to recidivism of UI use.
