Cystatin C is a member of the cysteine protease inhibitor family, and plays a role in many physiological and pathological processes. Previous studies have shown thai cystatin C was the ideal endogenous marker to show the variation in glomerular filtration rate. Recently it has also been found that cystatin C is associated with the risk factors of coronary heart disease.
