Modern Chinese herbal medicine is the combination of modern biomedical technology and traditional Chinese medicine.The title of modern Chinese formula maintains both of western medicine terms as well as traditional medicine ones.How to translate them as Chinese medicine formula is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine research.Based on Practical Dictionary of Chinese Medicine (Second Edition),International Standard Chinese-English Basic Nomenclature of Chinese Medicine,and Chinese Pharmacopoeia,the article suggested in translation that we should have the priority in Chinese medicine features,and employing both western medicine terms and traditional Chinese terms,to accomplish the international communication.%“现代中药”是中药现代化的结果,体现了现代生物医学技术与传统中医药的融合.现代中药药名包含现代医学术语与中医药传统术语,如何在翻译时体现其中医药特质是中医药英译研究的重要命题.故从《中华人民共和国药典(2015版)》《中医基本名词术语中英对照国际标准》和《实用英文中医词典》出发,探讨“现代中药”药名翻译策略,认为“现代中药”药名翻译首先要确定中医药特质,通过“中西结合”的形式,实现中医药国际化过程.
