Objective To investigate the etiology, clinical symptoms and prognosis of elderly epilepsy.Methods Retrospectively analyzed the characteristics and clinical efifcacy of 61 cases with elderly epilepsy.Results For the 61 cases, were dominant with generalized-onset seizures, mainly caused by cerebrovascular disease, and most were presented with lobe infarction or malacia. The clinical symptoms were well controlled by commonly used medicine, eg. carbamazepine or sodium vedproate.Conclusion Elderly epilepsy often belongs to secondary epilepsy with clear etiology, and most of the type is generalized-onset seizures, which have good response to antiepileptic treatment.%目的：探讨老年癫痫的病因、临床症状及预后。方法回顾性分析61例老年癫痫的疾病特征及诊治疗效。结果老年癫痫患者中以全面性发作为主，病因以脑血管病为多见，尤其以脑叶梗死或软化灶为多见。使用卡马西平或丙戊酸钠等常用药物能控制症状。结论老年癫痫常为继发性癫痫，病因大多明确，类型以全面性发作为主，抗癫痫治疗效果好。
