As an important research and teaching university in southwestern China, Yunnan University provides a large quantity of high quality talents for the society. The paper emphasizes on analyzing the current situation of undergraduates'research ability. It reveals that though certain achievement has been made, there still exist the problems of low motivation in both supervisor and students, low rate of the conversion between research efiorts and achievement, and lack of research fund, etc. In order to improve undergraduates'research ability, Yunnan University should make the following efforts: deepen education reform, motivate research enthusiasm of teachers and students, increase research fund, and promote interscholastic cooperation.%云南大学作为我国西南地区重要的研究教学型高校，为社会输送了大批高素质人才，文章重点分析该校本科生科研能力的现状，取得一定成绩的同时依然面临指导教师及学生参与积极性不高、成果转化率低、经费投入不足等问题。为有效提升本科生科研能力，云南大学应当从深化教育教学改革、充分调动和发挥指导教师及学生参与积极性、加大科研经费资助力度、积极开展校外合作等方面进行努力。
