Environmental monitoring is a main course of the undergraduate students who major in environmental science. The knowledge involved in this course comes from diverse fields including chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics. To improve the understanding of the course by students it would be important to arrange the diverse knowledge into a systematic one and introduce it to the students. Present paper gives several proposals to improve the effect of the course. As suggested in the proposals the knowledge in teaching materials of the course may need to be rearranged and role of environmental monitoring experiment should be emphasized.%环境监测是高等院校环境科学专业的主干课。环境监测是一门涉及多学科的课程,内容庞杂且分散。如何将分散的知识系统性地讲授是保证这门课程教学质量的关键。本文从教学内容组织、教学方法的合理选择等方面提出了几点建议,以提高环境监测课程的教学质量。
