虽说英语是单复数语言，汉语是数词加量词语言，但英语中也有“数词＋N1＋of＋N2”的表量结构，汉语“数词＋量词＋名词”结构中的量词在特定语境下也可以省略。由于表量结构中的量词可分为八类，且量词既可用于表单位，又可用于表种类和表容器等，汉语中省略了量词的“数词加名词”构式有时就有多义性。人们在进行翻译时应特别注意根据语境对其进行适当的语义选择。%Though English is a singular-plural language and Chinese is a numeral-classifier language, there are ＂numeral ＋ N1 ＋ of ＋ N2＂ quantifying constructions in English, and the classifier in the Chinese ＂numeral ＋ classifier ＋ noun＂ construction can sometimes be omitted. As there are eight categories of classifiers in quantifying constructions and the classifier can denote species, container as well as unit, when the classifier is omitted, the Chinese numeral ＋ noun construction can be polysemous. Therefore, appropriate semantic selection should be made according to the context in translation.
