The paper introduces the structural characteristics of side trimmer , process parameters and principles for No 3 cold mill, Benxi steel, and analyses the influence of side clearance (Gap) and overlapping clearance (lap) on the quality of the cutting edge .The corresponding edge cutting quality criterin has been formulated .Besides, the common defects and disposal methods are set as example to explain, which would be the theoretical foundation for the unit .%文章介绍了本钢三冷轧西马克酸轧机组圆盘剪的结构特点、工艺参数和剪切原理，分析了侧间隙（ Gap）和重叠间隙（ Lap）对切边质量的影响，制定了相应的切边质量判定标准，并对圆盘剪切边的常见缺陷和相应处理方法进行了举例说明，为日后该机组的调试生产奠定了理论基础。
