As a former world leader, Britain had a lot of colonies and showed its great imperialism ideolo-gy in these colonies. And as a communicative way of ideology, British novels have made a constant influ-ence on the whole world. However, being the former owner of the colonies, there is a deep colonial charac-teristic of the major ideology showed by the British novels. The novelists of different times represented by Defoe, Dickens and Conrad continuously described this kind of colonial ideology in their works.
