This paper analyzes the target-searching method based on the equal step length in the range-gated underwater imaging system and presents the related searching strategies and criterion of target judgment and identification .The simulation and analysis of the effect of different step lengths on the result of target search in using the equal step length searching method show that the proposed judg-ment function and criterion are correct and that different step lengths have an impact on the result of target search .%研究了距离选通水下成像系统中基于等步长的目标搜索方法，给出了基于等步长目标搜索方法的搜索策略和目标存在的判别准则，对等步长目标搜索方法中不同步长对目标搜索结果的影响进行了仿真分析和实验，结果表明了所提出的判别函数和判别准则的正确性和步长对目标搜索结果的影响分析的正确性。
