Aim. The introduction of the full paper reviews a number of papers in the open literature and then proposes what we believe to be a new and efficient method, which is explained in sections 1, 2 and 3. Their core consists of: (1) we point out that when the Dempster-Shafer (D-S) evidence combination rule is applied to conflicting evidences, the evidences combined may be abnormal; (2) we formulate the new evidence combination rule by weighting the conjunctive combination rule and the disjunctive combination rule appropriately, with the new evidence combination formula being given in eq. (9) ; (3) in order to ensure that the target recognition system can make right decisions between the single-element sets, we assign the mass function of the multi-element set to its own single-element subset in an appropriate proportion in accordance with the relative degree of belief of a single-element set in the evidence combined, thus enhancing the identification precision. Section 4 simulates our evidence combination method, applies it to the target recognition task in Ref. 6 and compares it with other existing evidence combination methods; the simulation results, given in Table 1, and their analysis show preliminarily that our evidence combination method can efficiently identify targets even if the initial evidences are in conflict with each other to high degrees.%针对D-S证据组合规则在证据高度冲突时会导致错误结论这一问题,结合自动目标识别系统的实际需求,提出了一种新的证据组合规则.
