动力密封接触表面粗糙效应的有限元分析——动态接触有限元模拟

     

摘要

利用大型有限元软件MARC/MENTAT320研究了动态接触条件下,表面粗糙效应对动力密封摩擦副接触性态的影响,揭示了动态接触条件下若干表面粗糙形貌参数对密封系统工作性能的影响,以及这种影响在静态及动态接触条件下的不同。%To our best knowledge, there does not exist in the open literature any dynamic-contact FEM (finite element method) analysis of surface roughness effect on the operating performance of sealing system. We deem that we ought to have such dynamic-contact analysis in order to take into better account the actual operating situation of sealing system. Starting from our previous paper[1] on static-contact FEM analysis, we now perform numerical simulation of the dynamic-contact process between hard-counterpart and sealing lip, whose material is PTFE filled with carbon-compound pellets, in sealing system. We do two things in our FEM dynamic-contact analysis: (1) we find that there are some mechanical phenomena such as “deformation sluggishness” of sealing material and “shock feature” of contact stress in dynamic contacting process of the sealing components; (2) we analyze the surface roughness effect on these mechanical phenomena. Figs.1 and 3 show clearly that good surface topography obtained with turning and small peak-to-valley ratio, a parameter indicating low degree of roughness, can reduce deformation sluggishness and contacting-stress shock in dynamic contacting process and, therefore, are beneficial to improving the contact properties and operating performance of sealing system. Experimental work in another paper of ours[4] supports the above-mentioned clear finding of Figs.1 and 3.
