This paper verifies that Mandarin Chinese has underived accomplishment verbs. Even though no underived accomplish-ment is consistent with Vendlerian classification, they are indeed one primitive aspectual verb class, whose culmination is implied. They differ from Resultative verbs compound in semantic structure. We use a novel diagnostic to distinguish accomplishment verbs from activity ones and prove the implied culmination:"Agent VP1-zhe VP2". This paper, furthermore, uses the neutral theories of Altshuler to explain why the progressive marker zai can cancel the culmination implicature of accomplishment while the durative marker zhe cannot.%汉语里存在着单语素完结体动词,从语义结构来看它不等同于动结结构的完结体动词,它的完结含义可被突显也可被取消.
