The perovskite oxynitrides have cubic, tetragonal and orthorhombic crystallization system. Sol-gel with ammonolysis process and high temperature solid reaction ammonolysis method are the main methods that are employed to synthesize perovskite oxynitrides, which are widely used in the areas of photocatalysis, dye and paint, magnetoresistance materials, scavenger, etc. Moreover, the preparation and application prospects of perovskite oxynitrides are discussed.
