Combining with the work experience,this paper discussed how to break the inertia thinking,in the premise of ensuring the safety, made design to foundation pit and slope,and made comparative and analysis from the calculation model,cost,construction difficulty,surround-ing environment,construction time limit for a project etc. ,so as to select the foundation pit supporting and slope design scheme most suitable for engineering characteristics.%结合工作经验，探讨了如何打破惯性思维，在确保安全的前提下对基坑支护和边坡进行设计，并从计算模式、成本、施工难度、周边环境、施工工期等方面进行了比较分析，以选择最适合工程特点的基坑支护和边坡设计方案。
