Bombardier has delivered a Global 6000 to the US Air Force for modification to carry the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) developed by Northrop Grumman. The aircraft (N9506G, c 9506, ex G-COUR) was handed over by Bombardier Aviation Services at Bradley International Airport, Connecticut, on August 30. It was ferried later the same day to St Louis Downtown Airport, Illinois, and was due to be delivered by the end of September. It will be equipped with BACN as the fourth E-11A in time to be deployed to Afqhanistan next summer.
