The US TSA is rolling out and expanding its Pre-Check program for expedited screening of low-risk passengers. Industry stakeholders generally praise Pre-Check and urge its rapid expansion. Some also seek significant modifications. Tested with a subset of American Airlines (AA) and Delta Air Lines (DL) frequent flyers, Pre-Check usually allows members to avoid removing belts, shoes and light jackets and keep liquids and laptops in their baggage. It has been applied at 11 airports by mid-March, but does not guarantee easy passage, as random checks are still done. American members of the US Customs and Border Protection Global Entry program may also apply for Pre-Check.
