UPS Airlines, which fur-loughed 54 pilots in May and had planned to furlough a total of 300 by year end, said it will reduce the number of furloughs to 230, citing improving economic conditions. "If our 2010 growth continues, the furloughs could be reduced even more in the future," a spokesperson said. The pilot workforce numbers about 2,800.
