摘要

The Regional Workshop on Engineering Fundamentals for Broadcasters was organised by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union in Kuala Lumpur from 6 to 10 January 2020. The workshop, targeted mainly young broadcast engineers from the ABU member organisations was the sixth in the series. The week-long workshop was aimed at providing knowledge of the fundamentals of broadcast engineering including basics of audio and video systems, evolutions of digital technologies and concepts. The course schedule was designed such that it would facilitate the participants to learn about the basics of analogue to digital conversion of audio and video signals and the integration of computer and networking technologies within the broadcast workflow. In addition to these, topics such as electrical power systems, contribution and distribution of media, current trends and advancements in broadcast applications were introduced to them during the workshop.
