Counter Terror Asia Expo (CTAX) 2018 was held from Dec 4 to 5, 2018 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Held alongside Counter Terror Asia Conference (CTAC), the event provides industry stakeholders with features that ensure up-to-date accurate analysis which is critical to protecting and shaping future policies. CTAC 2018 hosted more than 10 international speakers from counter terrorism, law enforcement and corporate security end users. The conference was open and officiated by founder and CEO of Fireworks Trade Media, Kenny Yong while president of the Security Association of Singapore, Joshua Thomas gave the welcoming speech. One of the interesting topics that Joshua highlighted was entitled "Are we prepared for terrorism?". The conference ran for two solid days, bringing various topics and subjects that covered many aspects of terrorism and counter-terrorism. Some of the topics covered by international speakers include:- 1. Protecting critical infrastructure security. 2. Providing security for a major concert or event to prevent terrorist attacks. 3. Countering unauthorised entries and maintaining vigilance at borders and land checkpoints. 4. What are the latest challenges that have evolved? 5. How can we curb cyber terrorism, an emerging threat in the Asian region? 6. Evacuating casualties and ensuring the safety of the public during a national terror attack. 7. A debate on camera surveillance in a country. Intrusions to privacy or safeguarding citizens? 8. Roles of drones in security surveillance. 9. Technology to identifying forged identification. According to Kenny Yong, since CTAC 2018 was an astounding success, the conference would be held again in 2020 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
