Nail bags and industrial gloves were the first products manufactured by Elliott Australia when the company started operating at a Brisbane home in 1966. The business was set up by Dick and Liz Elliott, whose son Anthony is now the company's managing director. "The business was very small when it started operating under my grandmother Winifred's house," Elliott says.rnIt wasn't long before the firm moved into a small factory where lessons were quickly learned on how to adapt to changing circumstances. When import duties were taken off gloves in the early 1970s, the company started importing to compete and to complement its local manufacturing operation, which, at its peak, employed 60 to 70 machinists.
