Nine innovative projects have been offered $6 million under the second round of grants from the renewable energy commercialisation program (RECP). Two complementary projects were offered RECP grants totalling almost $2 million to develop a potential new energy resource so vast it could meet Australia's energy needs for thousands of years. Several kilometres underground in a number of locations, hot dry rocks could be an opportunity for Australia to deliver clean, greenhouse gas emission free electricity on a large scale.
