The range of operative temperatures accept- able to 80 per cent of this group of some 50 people in winter/spring is between 21.3 deg. C and 23.8 deg. C. Maximum acceptability was found to occur at 22.5 deg. C with that con- dition acceptable to 90 per cent. This suggests that the upper thermostat At 22.8 deg. C for air valves to commence Opening is right but the lower setting of Heating on at 20.5 deg. C could be revised to 21.5 deg. C to improve comfort perceptions.
