I just mentioned that recurrent ed ucation of individual practitioners is now the accepted norm in most professions. Physicians, for ex ample, may have a medical degree and a residency at the start of their careers, but most then become "board certified" in some special ized area. Of more relevance to flight instructors, public school teachers typically have both prac tice teaching requirements and continuing education that exceeds state regulatory requirements.
