EADS is expanding its far-reaching restructuring program in an attempt to put the company on sound financial footing, even as it faces development delays in the A400M military transport program and the first major hiccup in A380 flight operations Last week, Airbus announced details of its long-anticipated extension of the Power8 cost-savings program. The so-called Power8+ initiative targets E∪D650 million ($916 million) in additional annual savings by 2012 and has outsourcing as its major theme.
