Snecma's move into the business jet engine market is gaining strength, as the company solidifies key hardware and programmatic elements of the SM-X project. Launched publicly early this year, Snecma's drive to develop an engine for business jets and, potentially, smaller regional jets is headed toward a critical milestone in about a year, when the company hopes to run the SM-X core demonstrator. The design of the core engine has been completed and production of components for the demonstrator have started, says Jean-Pierre Cojan, Snecma's executive vice president for commercial engines.

While quite a number of English-Japanese dictionaries of business and legal terms have been publishedin Japan, there seem to be very few Japanese-English dictionaries on the market which give clear explanations of thesubtle differences in meaning between the various English equivalents of terms in such specialized fields.
