With the busy schedule that the Kyle family of Ash Lawn Farm follows, it's hard to believe they have time to manage a milking herd of about fifty Jerseys and a flock of forty sheep. But it does not take long to realize that, because of a healthy balance of on and off farm activities, each of the three generations enjoys being a part of the farm management team. Kyles have been raising Jerseys in Brant county for almost seventy years, originating under the Kylecroft prefix. The patriarch of the family, Bob, explained the farm history, illustrating the past with the pedigree of the first registered Jersey owned by the farm. Queen Of Oakleigh was transferred to John Kyle & Son (Bob's father and brother) in 1927 and started a cow family that is still a part of the herd today.
