On 13-14 November, 2006, the 5th Northeast Asia Standards Cooperation Workshop was held in beautiful Sanya, China. Sanya is located at the southern end of Hainan Province and is a famous tourist city in China. Called Yazhou in ancient time, the history of Sanya dates 'back to the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC). It was also called TianyaHai-jiao (the edge of the sky and the end of the sea) for thousands of years. The climate in Sanya is of the tropical monsoon and tropical ocean type. It is hot and warm all the year round with plenty of rainfall. Moreover, Sanya has abundant sunshine, warmth and water.
