In the spring of 2014, we launched the second phase of the Great Recovery project and talked about our plans for some "immersive design residencies" at waste sites as well as the opening of our first innovation hub in London. Eight months later and our visions are now turning into action with our trial residency taking place in July and the launch of Fab Lab London, a couple of months ago, in September. Design and creativity are essential for the progress of a business. As the DTI tells us: "Creativity is vital for every part of the economy. The ability to generate a diverse set of business options through new ideas is a central feature of innovation in all firms and, as such, is central to sustained economic growth."
