A group of business leaders and academies has written to the Prime Minister to urge Britain to replicate the urgency for the search for a Covid-19 vaccine in the fight against climate change. The letter calls on Boris Johnson to establish a Green Innovation and Sustainability Transformation Council, and spearhead a programme that matches ambition for a green industrial revolution with a more comprehensive approach to green innovation. The recommendations, which come ahead of the UK's hosting of COP26 in Glasgow later this year, stem from a two-year investigation by the UCL Green Innovation Policy Commission, chaired by former CBI director-general and letter signatory John Cridland.
