In general the acid substitutes from different manufacturers are becoming popular eventually and the acceptability of the processors for these types of substitutes is increasing.rnIn comparison with the acid substitutes a number of limitations of acetic acid are observed.rnThe physical and the chemical properties of standard acid substitutes and acetic acid are more or less comparable.rnThe effluent load in terms of COD and BOD values is reduced by use of standard acid substitutes.rnIt has also been observed that there is an improvement in the whiteness of fabric treated with OBA using standard acid substitutes.rnThe standard acid substitutes can be used by both exhaust as well as padding methods. The standard acid substitutes can be used on different substrates on various machines.rnThe Yogacid range has already penetrated well in Indian market due to its cost effectiveness and advantages over acetic acid such as effective buffering action, levelness in polyester dyeing, ease of handling, lower inventory, ecological benefits and better whiteness.
