Why did you go into construction? My first construction placement was in 1985 on a Youth Training Scheme with Cringate Engineering, a structural steel fabricator. I produced drawings for new buildings and from there the bug took hold for building and being part of that scene. What training / qualifications do you have? I have an Honours degree in civil engineering; I am a chartered engineer; a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers; and an associate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessors. That is combined with 23 years of on-the-job training.
