The ISSR-PCR method was used to study the genetic structure of five breeds of cattle raised in Ukraine. Breed specificity regarding amplification products of two three-nucleotide primers was revealed. Composition of amplification products was different in animals of the opposite sex. Possibilities of application of ISSR-RCR markers for characterization of genetic relationships between breeds were estimated.
