摘要

Today Iraq is bleeding just like Palestine and Kashmir. Is it another Vietnam for the US? The fact is that the Iraqi's are up in arms. The US occupation has proved to be a political and military failure. Has the US misread history in Iraq as it did in Vietnam? After the Iraqi elections most Americans have one eye on the exit. Although many in the Bush administration confirm that they intend to stay until a free, stable and peaceful Iraq is established, but it seems likely that the momentum for a speedy withdrawal has increased after the January elections. Iraq and the region seem to have entered a long era of turbulence that will hopefully, lead to the evolution of democratic or populist governments in the region.
